There will be 15 different awards given in the categories such as: Best Male Singer, Best Female Singer, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Debut Album, Best Country Singer (Lu or Nomadic song), Best New Age, Best Classical (Traditional or Folk song), Best Music Video, etc.
All musicians, singers, and others from the recording industry who have produced works and deemed eligible for awards will be invited for the event.
Tibetan Music Awards was first started in 2003 to honour Tibetan musicians, singers, and others from the recording industry for their musical and artistic achievements, and to encourage excellence in the industry.
The event is held every two years on the basis of albums produced by musicians and singers. The winners will be directly selected by the public through voting on this website. The voting took place from over 15 to 17 August. There were more than 2000 votes.
Musicians, singers, and others who get the maximum number of votes will be the winner for each category. The results of winners will not be known until the Awards presentation ceremony night on 15 October in McLeod Ganj. The names of the winners will be revealed through the opening of sealed envelopes by the announcers.
We are still looking for sponsors for the event. Sponsorship or any contribution will be gratefully acknowledged on this website and the event programme booklet. You can contribute through PayPal to firstname.lastname@example.org or contact us for more information.
